Dnes byla zveřejněna míra inflace za květen letošního roku v České republice. Meziroční míra inflace se z dubnových 2,9 % snížila na květnových 2,6 %, což je o 0,2 % pod očekáváním analytiků. Ceny zboží se zvýšily o 0,9 %, ceny služeb o 5,3 %. K poklesu inflace přispěly zejména změny v cenách potravin a nealkoholických nápojů. Službou, která nejvíce přispívá k růstu inflace, je zvyšování cen nájemného, jehož ceny se meziročně zvýšily o 7,2 %.
Meziměsíční inflace byla nulová, přičemž ceny zboží klesly o 0,2 %, zatímco ceny služeb vzrostly o 0,2 %. Dlouhodobý vývoj je názorně vidět zde:
Míra inflace se vzdálila od horní hranice tolerančního pásma České národní banky. Navíc jádrová inflace pokračovala v letošním poklesu, kdy se každý měsíc snížila o 0,1 procentního bodu.
Podle metodiky Eurostatu dosáhla meziroční míra inflace HICP 2,8 %. Ve srovnání s okolními státy eurozóny je o 0,1 % vyšší než na Slovensku, shodná s inflací v Německu a o 0,5 % nižší než v Rakousku.
Petr Král, ředitel sekce měnové politiky ČNB řekl, že míra inflace je z pohledu bankovní rady uspokojivá. Doslova uvedl: „Meziměsíčně se cenová hladina v květnu nezměnila. Nevýznamné cenové pohyby v rámci většiny oddílů spotřebního koše se vzájemně vykompenzovaly. Květnová meziroční inflace byla prakticky ve shodě s jarní prognózou ČNB. Podle ní se inflace bude v průběhu celého letošního roku pohybovat na dohled 2% cíle.
Nejbližší zasedání bankovní rady je naplánováno na 27. června. Snížení úrokových sazeb se jeví jako jisté; klíčová bude nejen rychlost snížení, ale také hlasovací poměr a doprovodné komentáře.

Inflation rate in the Czech Republic in May 2024
Today, the Czech Republic released the inflation rate for May of this year. In May, the annual inflation rate decreased from 2.9% in April to 2.6%, 0.2% lower than analysts had predicted. The prices of goods increased by 0.9%, while the prices of services experienced a more substantial rise of 5.3%. Changes in the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages primarily drove the decline in inflation. Among the various services, the most significant contributor to inflation was the notable increase in rent prices, which rose by 7.2% year-on-year.

The inflation rate has strayed beyond the upper threshold of the Czech National Bank’s tolerance band. Furthermore, there has been a consistent decrease in core inflation throughout the year, with a monthly decline of 0.1 percentage point.
According to Eurostat methodology, the annual HICP inflation rate registered at 2.8%. In comparison to neighboring euro area countries, it is 0.1% higher than Slovakia, the same as Germany, and 0.5% lower than Austria.
Petr Král, Director of the CNB’s Monetary Policy Department, said that the inflation rate met the Board’s expectations. „In month-on-month terms, the price level was unchanged in May. Insignificant price movements recorded in most consumer basket categories offset each other. Annual inflation in May was broadly in line with the CNB’s spring forecast. According to the forecast, inflation will be close to the 2% target throughout this year.“
The upcoming Board meeting has been set for 27 June. It is widely anticipated that there will be a definite decrease in the interest rate. The key aspects to consider will be not only the pace of the cut but also the voting ratio and the accompanying remarks.
